Millin Centre is a vibrant community centre based in the heart of Benwell in the West End of Newcastle upon Tyne.
We deliver a range of training, education and skills development courses, family activities, advice and guidance, health improvement services, Mother and Toddler groups, homework clubs and recreational activities, as well as developing and delivering innovative projects to promote social change.
One of these projects is Local Women Local Enterprise, through which we provide free training courses, enterprise experiences, advice and support, uniquely delivered in the local community to achieve real, sustainable progression for women. Millin Centre aims to reduce inequalities, promote community cohesion and citizenship, alleviate poverty and increase opportunities.
Millin also aims to increase well-being for residents in the diverse neighbourhoods of North Benwell and surrounding areas facing multiple deprivation and barriers to inclusion.
The Centre has an I.T suite, community kitchen and Café, training rooms, conference space, crèche, activity rooms, meeting rooms and social spaces for community events and parties.
The Millin Centre is run by a board of Trustees who are volunteers and have the overall responsibility of the governance of Millin Centre. The current Board members are:
